Virtus.pro rallied to beat Team Secret 3-2 in the best-of-five Dota 2 finals at the $1 million Kuala Lumpur Major on Sunday in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Team Secret had not lost a single match in the tournament entering the final.
VP jumped out to the early lead, winning the first game, before quickly falling behind 2-1 and facing elimination.
But VP, who earlier beat Evil Geniuses 2-0 to emerge from the lower bracket, reeled off wins in the final two games to claim the title and the $350,000 first prize.
“Thanks to @teamsecret for the epic Grand Final, thanks @pglesports for an amazing tournament and Special thanks to all our fans!,” VP tweeted after the match.
Team Secret picked up $170,000 as runner-up. Evil Geniuses officially finished third, earning $100,000.
This is the first official Valve Major of the 2018 DPC Season and PGL’s sixth Major overall. The 16-team event also awards DPC points toward The International 2019.
